It’s funny the things that catch you out when you’re booking a trip.
Whether you’re booking everything yourself
or using someone to help…
They usually fall into one category
Logistics
Not the exciting part
But definitely the necessary part
Getting to the airport, for a start
What time is your flight?
Do you need to stay overnight nearby?
Which airport are you actually flying from?
(Trust me… people do turn up at the wrong one)
And then there’s everything else
Travel insurance
Cabin bag sizes
Checked bag weight limits
Even the 24-hour clock has caught people out more than once
When I first started travelling,
it was these little things
that caused me the most stress
Not the trip itself
Just everything around it
But over time, something shifts
Your travel rhythm develops
And so do your habits
What used to feel overwhelming
becomes routine
You still check things
But it becomes more of a checklist
Not a
“what on earth do I do now?”
moment
And if something unexpected does come up
You’re not trying to figure it out from scratch
You’ve got people you can ask
People who’ve been there before
And that makes all the difference
Because even when you travel on your own
You’re not actually doing it alone
